Standard Bank and Pick n Pay

I am extremely frustrated with the handling of this matter. I made a transaction with Pick n Pay, which I cancelled on my side. On my banking profile, the transaction shows that the funds were reserved and did not go through.

When I first contacted Standard Bank, I was advised to wait 5 working days for the funds to be released. I have now waited the required time, but I am being told a different story that the bank must now contact Pick n Pay and that it will take another 10 business days.

Pick n Pay has already confirmed that they released the funds back to my account, so I do not understand why I am being taken from pillar to post for a transaction that was cancelled. Please can this matter be resolved urgently and the reserved funds released to my account immediately, or provide a clear explanation as to why this has not yet been done.

I am extremely frustrated with how this matter is being handled. The reason I was asked to wait 5 days was so that you could confirm whether Pick n Pay would bank the funds. The transaction was cancelled on my side, and the funds are still showing as reserved, which clearly indicates that the merchant has not banked the funds.

Now after waiting the full 5 days, I am being told that I need to go to Pick n Pay and call the bank while I’m there. This does not make sense. As the bank, you should be able to see that the funds were never processed by the merchant and should therefore release the reserved amount back into my account.
It is extremely frustrating that I now have to go back and forth between the bank and the store for a transaction that was cancelled and never completed. I expected this issue to be resolved after the 5-day waiting period, not to be given additional steps that inconvenience me further.
