Standard bank and Microsoft...bed fellows?

I deactivated my debit and credit cards for online transactions via the standard bank app, but unfortunately standard bank does not honor this block and allows mega companies like Microsoft to over ride the blocks. I phoned ***** department and they explained that the transactions cannot be reversed. I'm trying to get an answer from standard bank as to how come they failed to block Microsoft online transactions when online transacting was deactivated on the standard bank app?
