Standard bank account closure is a nightmare

I have been trying to close an account at standard bank for the longest time. I called the bank and was told to go to a branch which I did. I tried the Maponya Mall branch but waited over an hour for assistance and had to leave cos I can’t wait that long just close an account. I tried again at the Jabulani Mall branch but was told their systems are not operational due to load shedding. Ok that’s understandable but then we ended up having to wait another hour after the power was back on for reasons we were not told. This is just ridiculous. No one has all day to stand and wait at the bank. The bank next door as operating just fine with load shedding but we had to wait 2 to 3 hours.
