Standard Bank access bond reinstatement nightmare

Standard Bank access bond reinstatement:

On 16/1/2017 I forwarded an email to my personal banker asking that my access bond be reactivated again.

On the same day, she forwarded a form to me "application for access bond facility".

I completed the document, scanned it and mailed it back to her the same day.

On 19 January 2017, I mailed her requesting feedback.

On the 23rd of January 2017, I received a mail from my personal banker advising that the process is 5-7 business days and requesting proof of address.

On the 26th of January, I forwarded the proof of residence.

My personal banked mailed me back and advised that she had forwarded it to home loans division.

After no feedback on this issue, I mailed my personal banker on the 6th of February 2017, requesting feedback.

I received an email requesting a couple of details i.e. id number, card number, overdraft limit, 2 debit orders that go off my account and expiry date of my card.

On the same day 6 Feb 2017, I forwarded this detail to prestige banking. I must add that my account has been with Standard bank since the early nineties and they have access to most of the above info.

On 9 Feb 2017, I requested feedback from Prestige Banking.

I received no feedback.

On 10 Feb 2017, I mailed Prestige Banking and asked for feedback.

Now it gets worse. I received an email on 13 Feb 2017 requesting the exact same info that was requested on 6 Feb 2017 i.e. id number, card number etc.

In between all this, I have also decided not to accept my new credit card and I advised Prestige Banking of this.

This was also a struggle, but let me not get side tracked.

Somewhere in middle Feb 2017, I decided to contact home loans directly.

For the record, I have a letter received from Prestige Banking dd 2010 welcoming me and advising me that they will also attend to home loan queries.

I had to answer a couple of security questions and agree to the access bond terms and conditions.

I was instructed that my wife also need to phone them and go through the same process to agree to the terms and conditions. The bond is in both our names.

She phoned and home loans were not happy with the answers to the security questions. Het cell phone number has changed, so I suspect it has something to do with that.

Anyway, she had to go in to the branch and show her ID document and agree to the terms and conditions.

She did that at Midrand branch but was told to come back with a copy of her id. This was early March 2017.

On 8 March 2017, she visited the branch again with a copy of her id. She was told the access bond will be available in 3 to 5 days’ time.

On 13 March 2017, the access bond was still not available.

I mailed Prestige Banking again advising them of what has happened and requesting feedback.

A day later I decided to phone home loans division directly as I knew that no feedback will be forthcoming from Prestige Banking.

I was advised that the request to reinstate my access bond was declined because I did not have structural insurance on my property.

I told the person from home loans that I do have this insurance and she advised that I mail through a copy of my insurance policy to this email address **********
On 14 March 2017, I mailed through a copy of the policy schedule and I asked in the mail that they can contact me on my cell or by email if there are any issues. I gave them my Cell no and email address on this email.

On 15 March 2017, I received an email from Gillian Sandt after requesting feedback.

She requested info id number, residential address, total home loan amount, bond term, postal address, cell phone number and work telephone number which I gave to her on the same day.

I have once again not received any feedback/communication. I have mailed home loans division requesting feedback and received their automated response that they will get back to me.

This has been going on since Jan 2017. I am doing renovations to my house and I had to withdraw funds from my investment account to pay for this because I cannot get the access bond with Standard Bank reinstated.

What is going on with this bank? Do they not have enough people employed to cater for their customers?

Why do they not communicate? Why do they have a prestige banking section if the customer has to go to all the different departments themselves?

What can I do? Just give up?
