Standard bank

I contacted standard bank 2 weeks ago to return a payment that was failed by Pick and Pay, and they told me after 7 days the money would be released, then I contacted them last week and they told after 10 business days the money would be released, while I gave them proof of the failed payment and screenshots of my support chat with pick and pay, saying they don't contact banks, but standard bank insists the merchant needs to contact them to cancel the transaction, all this tells me is that standard bank is designed to protect and serve businesses, not their consumer customers, after a decade long standing account with them, I'm very disappointed at the lack of support and accountability by their staff, the blame is constantly shifted to someone else, I literally spent all of my phone minutes being sent from department to department with no resolution, absolutely useless

While I appreciate your response I doubt the sincerity in understanding my frustration, because after the hoops I've had to jump through to get my own money back that could and should have been used on my 1 year old son gives me a lack of confidence in banking my money anywhere at this point, when I asked your support team to point out where in your terms and conditions it states that I have to wait 10 days for money to be released from an authorisation hold after they themselves pointer out the fact the merchant hadn't banked the money, they told me that this information isn't public but an internal process, and now I have to resort making this public because I feel like banks are getting away with too much when it comes to consumer protection, last year ****mers stole so much money from my account, I went almost 30k in overdraft, and while standard bank returned my money because it was clearly *****ulent purchases, they could not offer me any explanation as to how the money could be ****** from my account in the first place, and how an account that isn't an overdraft account is able make purchases while in overdraft, so I don't think you do understand my frustration, like I said, standard bank likes to shift the blame somewhere else so they don't need to resolve the issue and can't be held accountable for the fault claiming plausible deniability, and while standard bank continues to take this stance with its customers I can never be confident that your empathy is sincere
