STANDARD BANK *****

November 2025 my 66yr old mother lost R242 000 at Std bank. She woke up to a call from Standard bank asking whether she was the one making such withdrawals, to which she declined. She was asleep and unaware that her money was being ******. They are now saying it is her negligence for losing the money and are offering to reimburse her R70 000 instead of the entire amount. The money was taken from her day to day account and her investment account. My mother is is sickly, diabetic and has had a major spine operation. She is immobile and often bed ridden. How is this her fault? One has to jump through hoops in order to access your own money at std bank, how is it that ********s can easily gain access on your profile? Kindly ask STD BANK to do the right thing and return my mother's money. Her health is deteriorating and her quality of life has been compromised. Kindly assist is to get justice for my mother.

How disappointing! I wrote here on Hellopeter yesterday and standard bank responded with the most insulting response. How can you refer my mother back to the very person who couldn't help her in the first place. Standard bank has refered the case back to the private banker who couldn't assist my mother but instead offered her a loan. A loan? Are you serious? She losses her money and you offer her a loan? How is she supposed to pay back that loan? Her money was taken and money on the overdraft. How is a loan supposed to remedy the situation? I guess I'll be joining my family members as well and close my account with Standard Bank because you don't have any intentions of sorting this matter. You don't care about the consequences of your incompetence. You called my mother and left her in a worse state than before. You are useless and deserve to lose all your business because all you care about is the bottom line and not your clients.

In future contact me and not my mother. I had to rush her to the Dr after a useless intervention from Standard bank.
