Standard

On the 23rd of May(Monday) I received a call from SB credit card division saying that I had defaulted on my payment. I was at work and busy, and thinking that maybe I might have said I would make the payment the next day, only after a while thinking about it and realising that i had not made any purchases on my card and I had a nil balance owing. Nevertheless, I went onto SB online internet banking on 24th May(Tuesday midday), only to see that 2 transactions had gone off for the same amount, which should not have gone through!!! I had attempted (on 20 April 2016) to make a payment for an exam registration on the institution site which took into Standard bank's site to which I entered my account details... but the Standard Bank system froze twice. After waiting for a long while I eventually logged out and made the payment manually.

Here's where it get interesting, I call the card division @ 11.20AM, speaking to Mkosi Ndlovu, I explain my situation the Mkosi attempts to reverse the transactions gone through BUT CANT because my card is blocked, then he attempts to put me through to Collection Dept(where I hold on for a while, only to speak to Bonixile Khoza, who tells me she cant unblock the card. I explain again my story to which she says she replies that once the transactions are reversed, my card will automatically be unblocked and she will put me through, back to Mkosi. (Clearly a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing). HELLO, AS I EXPLAINED MKOSI CANT DO THE REVERSAL ...Then she tells me that she cant unblock the card until I have made a payment towards it, then only will it be unblocked. HELLO AGAIN, WAKE UP ALREADY , I DONT OWE YOU ANY MONEY, THE TRANSACTIONS NEED TO BE REVERSED BECAUSE YOUR SB SYSTEM FROZE ON ME, NO CONFIRMATION WAS EVER SENT OR GIVEN TO ME THAT IT WENT THROUGH TWICE. Why should i pay you money that i dont owe you.

I then ask for the manger and Megan Perierra comes on the phone, I again explain to her, and she is just as dense and doesnt assist giving me the same story that they cannot unblock until, I make a payment. I then ask for her manager to which she responds that he is not in. I ask for his name and telephone no, she gives me his name but says she cant give me his no. I ask why and she says he does'nt have an office no, only a cell no and she's not allowed to give that to me because he's a new and I cant contact him directly. What the hell, what is he there for then really?

I ask how this is going to get sorted out and Megan Perierra then boldly commits to calling me within an hour to let me know how they are going to sort this out, GUESS WHAT, IT'S THURSDAY ALREADY, THE THE HOUR HAS STILL NOT PASSED FOR MEGAN, AS SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I did get a SMS yesterday to say"this is a reminder to pay your credit card, if you have any queries, please call us on ***" what the fudge!!! Pathethic does'nt come close, it's no wonder 300 million left SB under their noses within a couple of hours. I spent 30 plus minutes on the phone from Durban to Jhb and they actually expect you to keep trying when they dont know how to work their system and do their jobs right.

SHAME ON YOU STANDAND BANK for employing useless staff and not training them well. need i remind you, it's a customer services enviroment.

You happily called me and offered me R40 000 credit over the phone and did the processing in minutes when you wanted business...SO

WHO AT STANDARD BANK THAT GETS PAID TO WORK CAN GET OFF THEIR LAZY BUTT AND BOLDLY SORT OUT THIS MESS AND GIVE ME A CALL TO SAY THAT IT'S SORTED?????

You happily called me and offered me R40 000

I WOULD APPRECIATE A RESPONSE!

Thank you Hello Peter.com for your site.

Please see below the further, the further harassment, frustration and useless service, I have experienced with Standard bank. This is truly beyond SHOCKING. Everyone I ever encounter will hear about this. This is my response email to the gentleman, Nkululeko that called me from the complaints dept. Dear Nkululeko I trust you are well. I acknowledge receipt of the dispute form you sent through for me to complete, however there is no option that is applicable to the situation. You also did not make mention of the said form on Friday in our discussions. Your SYSTEM FAILED TWICE, NO NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO ME THAT THOSE TRANSACTIONS WENT THROUGH, THIS IS SB’s PROBLEM, YOU NEED TO FIX IT. AND I FURTHER SENT PROOF OF PAYMENT THAT I MADE BY OTHER MEANS. You asked me to make a payment of R 70.35 iro monthly service fees for April and May. In order to expedite and correct this case sooner, while you and the other lady held on the phone I did a transfer of R 71.00(which you advised reflected immediately on your system) and I sent an email through to the FPI and copied you in on that email explaining the whole scenario and asking them to assist you with the reversal from your side!. What has happened thus far? Is there no limit to the bad service and incompetence from Standard bank. Since then; On Sa****ay, 28th May 2016, I received another sms from SB to pay my credit card which read ‘Standard bank: This is a reminder to pay your credit card as promised. Please call us on *** 8am to 7pm, if you have queries” On Monday, I receive another sms, which read ‘Standard bank: You failed to pay your credit card as promised. Please pay urgently to avoid suspension of your facility or call us on ***, 8am to 7pm. Today, 31/05/2016, @ 11am, I get a voicemail with the same message as above playing. Today again @14.26pm, I get a call from Hoosen Khan, asking for payment on my credit card. What the hell is wrong with you people????? You Nkululeko, asked me to pay R70.35, which I did. This is just the SB service fee, (for a pathetic service might I add), please open the lines of communication within Standard bank or even put a **** message on the system, letting everyone at SB know what the hell is going on and STOP HARASSING ME!!! DO YOUR JOB THAT YOU ARE GETTING PAID TO DO. I AWAIT AN URGENT RESPONSE… RAJESHNU
