Solar loan application

I would like to express my disappointment regarding the inconsistent and unfair interest rates app**** to our solar loan applications.

My husband and I app**** for the same type of solar loan only about two weeks apart, yet he received an interest rate of 13.7%, while I was offered 16.75%. When I queried this, I was told the higher rate was due to petrol prices and the war situation. This explanation does not make sense, especially considering that the repo rate was not affected accordingly during this period.

Instead of using challenging economic times to support loyal clients, it feels as though Standard Bank is making things more difficult for customers who are trying to improve their homes and invest in sustainable solutions.

I also specifically mentioned that I hold an Honours degree, which I was informed could positively influence interest rates, yet this appears to have made no difference whatsoever.

I moved from FNB to Standard Bank expecting better service and more fair treatment, but this experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated.

I would appreciate a proper review and explanation regarding the large difference in interest rates between two applications made within such a short period.
