So done with Standard Bank

I'm really not impressed by the way Standard Bank does business. I first had a problem where they were charged me immediate clearance fees for a PayShap payment and their excuse was that the fees went up in 2025, (they now charge immediate clearance fees for PayShap payments, which is ridiculous because PayShap was designed to be a cheaper alternative) but they did not send out notification to their clients, they expected us to go and Google their updated fee schedule. I made it clear that this is unacceptable because FNB sends out their fee schedule on time every time there's an adjustment, Standard Bank expects you to smell that you need to Google it. I had to fight to get that fee refunded and mind you their 2025 prices STILL don't reflect these new fees, I have proof from their Google document. After that I vowed that I would NEVER use PayShap again, I rather pay immediate clearance fees for immediate payments. However, even now when I do immediate payments, not through PayShap, those payments still show up as PayShap payments on my transaction history. So in essence they're saying that you WILL use PayShap whether you like it or not.

My latest issue is that Standard Bank has absolutely no other way of sending banking transaction notifications to you except through SMS. Not in app notifications, not emails, nothing, only SMSs and they charge you for this AND they are not on time. Why am I being made to pay for your lack of innovation? FNB gave us the choice to opt out of this service because it was an extra charge and gave us in app notifications. You are refusing to keep with the times and we're being made to pay for it, while the service is not even efficient. Get your **** together!
