SMS harassment

For the past two weeks Standard Bank has sent me threatening phone calls and SMS's and phoned me at ridiculous times of the day - even over weekends - for payment of an overdue home loan that is not even in my name. In fact, I do not have ANY accounts with Standard Bank - and from the experience I've had with this useless institution over the past two weeks, I can very clearly see why I don't bank with them.

Over the past week and a half, I have phoned multiple times to report that this home loan does not belong to me and request that my number be removed from Standard Bank's system - each time being promised that it will be done within 48 hours. Over a week later - and nothing has been done.

The latest message is as follows: "Standard Bank: Your Home Loans account ending with ***5599 is overdue. Please make a payment of R6983.84 by 2018/09/11. Press 1 to make this commitment ?? or 2 to talk to an agent. You can also use Pay AT to make payment using ********** ********** ."

This is the tone of the messages that I have been receiving on a almost daily basis. The call center ignores the request to have the problem resolved. And then have the audacity to tell me I should not be angry with them.

Should this harassment continue any further, I will be laying a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman - maybe that would have the issue resolved, since clearly Standard Bank do not have the necessary s****s to do something as simple as removing an incorrect cellphone number from a user profile.
