SHORT FUNDS RECEIVED AT A STANDARD BANK ATM WITHDRAWAL
Short funds received from an ATM Withdrawal On Friday 22 May 2020 I visited Caltex Duma Service Garage at C/O NY 132 and NY 1 in Gugulethu Cape Town. It was after 1pm in the afternoon, I withdrew R200 from my Capitec account using a Standard Bank ATM at the garage. The money came out in 5 R20 notes, 1 R50 note, and an SBV receipt with 19 May 2020 timestamp. I immediately went to the office in the garage to report the incident and they advised me that they are not affiliated with the bank and that I should escalate the matter with Standard Bank. I phone Standard Bank customer care and they said I should log a complaint with my bank and the bank will escalate it on my behalf. I immediately phoned Capitec and told them about the incident and the consultant said I should retain the SBV Slip that came out of the ATM as proof and I gave him the ATM number that I used, my reference was **********6. They promised to contact me within 14 working days and I did not hear from them since. Today 15 June 2020 I phoned Capitec to follow up on the matter and they advised me that Standard Bank has responded and stated that there is nothing to refund/reverse because I received R200 on the day of reversal. My question is... Would I go through all the trouble of running to the owner's office, phoning Standard Bank and Capitec if I had received the full amount? I still have the ****** SBV slip written R10 000 x R50 which came of the Standard Bank ATM instead of my mone. I want this resolved, I want my money back, if I have to take this to the bank's Ombudsman I will gladly do so. Stop bull****ting me and refund my damn R50. Little as it is, it's my money and I want it. WILL I EVER GET FEEDBACK ON THIS? IT'S ALMOST THE END OF JULY AND STANDARD BANK HAS NOT SORTED THIS OUT. I NEED URGENT RESOLUTION TO THIS.
