SHOCKING service from Standard Bank Customer Care and Co.plaints Resolution Centre
Shocking service: Standard Bank Custome4 Service and then Complaints Resolution Centre. I reported an unauthorised international deduction from my current account 7 weeks ago. Afyer a few emails and calls, I contacted the Complaints Department on 31 March 2026. It was established that NOTHING was done to solve my issue during tbe first 4 weeks. A very helpful banker Clint, cobtacted me and actually actioned on the matter. The Bank informed me that they would remburse me within 7 to 10 working days in good faith whilst somebody was actually now investigating my initial query. It is 15 April today. Maybe it will still reflect after 19h00 tonight, but I am not holding my breath. As tbere was no further response! Yes, there were public holidays and weekends but today is tbe 10th sorking day. had to cancel my card, in order to safeguard me from further unauthorised deductions. What a shock when the same company deducted a second amount of R890 from my account, by submitting the OLD, CANCELLED card details because I have not been in contact with them at all to update my ndw card and CVV detsils!!! So much for safeguarding my security! I immediately informed Clint by email twice, and also phoned the Complaints Resolution Dept twice! Clint was either at lunch or unavailable. 4 days later, Monday 13 April, Amolegang sent a mail to say she was working in Clints place and had referred the matter to the relevant department. I sent a further 2 emails, and phoned twice. Today I phoned around 10h00 and asked for the 1st Escalation Manager, Desroy Swarz who was in a meeting (no surprise). I explained the direty of my two-fold situation in a calm, friendly and polite manner. Needless to say when I phoned a short while agp, Desroy was busy on a call. Left another message. I am a pensioner, R890 x 2 is a lot of money to me. But .... my bank. With whom I have been for approx 40 years, have left me in the lurch and did NOT safeguard me even after I cancelled my card due to *****. So what now? I have explored all the avenues available to me at the bank, to no avail. I am shocked, upset and feel unsafe, but who cares about one old pensioner at Standard Bank?

Thank you for this reply and promise of immediate update.
I would like to advise, that I have NOT received the refund that I was promised either.
Hopefully some good news will be forthcoming from Dtandard Bank tomorrow latest.

There is nothing cobtained in Dtandard Bank's reply that would make it personal.
Saying "sorry for inconvenience", the matter is receiving atfention, be on the lookout for further communi ation is extremely vague, with no indication of a tineline and urgency acknosledgement. And still NO RESLONSE from ANYBODY since Mo day's last empty promises. Surely, the fact that you have allowed a transaction on a non ecistent card number by itself, should have prompted a very quick resolution?
