Shocking handling of estates and last wishes of beloved passed family members.

Worst bank for handling estates/wills. Estate in jeopardy due to incompetence.

Refer to first complaint 22nd Oct 2024. Current status no progress. Last update provided by STB legal department, 25 April 2025. No updates thereafter.

Heirs requested updates on 2 Oct 2025, directly to the writer. No response. Heirs requested update again 7 Oct 2025 - response received ' receipt of email confirmed and that an update will be provided as soonest. No feedback was given. Heirs requested feedback once again on the 24th Oct 2025 - no response. Another Request sent to STB 29 Oct -finally a response -promised feedback by 31 Oct 2025.

It is evident that there is no interest or urgency, four years later, still in the same boat. IF we as the heirs, don't request feedback, then nothing gets done? Standard Bank advised in June/July 2024 that they will rescind a claim against the estate which was delivered to them 13 Dec 2023, but as the guardians of the estate, they failed to appeal with-in the given time-line of the claim? How are these professionals have possession of this extremely important document, but does 'nothing' about it?

The master of high court was not made aware that there is a will a pre-nup and additional heirs to the estate. Heirs lodged complaint with Master directly, on which STB lawyers rep**** on, part of their defense, their lawyer states that the administrator was overseas at the time the claim was delivered. This statement on its own is a SHOCKING ADMISSION of the failed internal procedures. Yet we have in our possession an email from the administrator actively working until the 21 Dec 2023 closing off her email to us stating: "I will now close my laptop and will only be returning to office on the 18th of January 20. This questions the honestly and the integrity of this institution as the claim was dated 13 December 2023.

The Administrator tried to manipulate the heirs to take responsibility due to decisions heirs made, when they already knew what transpired internally. Decisions made, based on mis-information from STB. Documented proof.

We were only advised on the 'missed claim' situation on the 29th January 2024, by then the time-line within the claim was well overdue. They failed dismally against the estate. We found them to be dishonest and with no respect for the service they offer. Yet when you read the introduction on STB Estate administration it 'is written...."The loss of a loved one, can be emotionally draining, as such It's time when professional assistance will be needed. Our experts offers years of experience and technical knowledge to help administer your estate''...these individuals, butchered our mother's legacy. These individuals have made a mockery of the service you wish to offer your clients.
