SHOCKING FAILURE TO HONOUR GUARANTEE

I have been an attorney for 35 years and do a lot of Conveyancing. I received a guarantee from Standard Bank in terms whereof they will pay R 2 500 000.00 less what is owed on the bond, on date of registration of an immovable property into my bank account. Based on the guarantee I registered the property in the Deeds office, however, Standard Bank failed to pay despite the fact that all conditions were met. They clearly do not consider themselves bound by guarantees anymore. Based on this shocking failure, I will not refer any of my clients to them for bonds anymore as they cannot be trusted anymore. I will now unfortunately have to proceed with legal action after registration took place, but no payment was made.
