Shocking, but true

I contacted SB credit card division on 26 November and arranged that my credit card limit be reduced with R1 800. The staff member reduced the total limit of the card to R1800! I received an sms this morning informing me that my credit card has been recalled. When I phoned the number provided ( ********** 807), Martha could access the problem by means of my ID number. She said she would put me through to customer service and yes, the call was cut off. I phoned a number of times again and no-one could really help me, not even the people at customer service. The woman said I should speak to collections and the male there said that he cannot increase the limit again. SB's defense? They tried to phone me on 26 November. I am a professional person and do not feel obliged to respond to what mostly are direct marketing calls. Since I am a professional person, I prefer to be contacted via e-mail, especially if the bank made such a grave mistake. Ruining your credit history? Oh, we'll quickly do that for you on a Saturday morning. And yes, you should have known better - we tried to contact you and you did not respond, so it is your problem. Yes, we phoned you on one of the 'direct marketing' numbers Shocking, but unfortunately true.

Reviewer Update

Standard Bank needs to urgenly address my complaint. I am swamped by calls from this proud institution, informing me about the problem with my credit card (and what am I going to do about it). This behaviour addss insult to injury. Beyond shocking, offensive as well.
