Settled Account Sold To MBD Debt Collection

I still don't understand how a paid-up account was sold to MBD as they claim, I sent them the paid-up letter but they continue to call me, can you sort out your own issues with MBD and you leave me out of it. This is one of the reasons I closed all my accounts with you.
