SBSA not responsive to potential ***** concerns
I got a ***** phonecall from someone on Tuesday, calling from a private number, who claimed to be from Standard Bank and was calling about my credit card - claiming I was going to get a windfall for being a good customer. Alarm bells rang ... but I played along just to hear what they had to say. This person then proceeded to confirm my details, they gave me my ID number, physical address and date of birth and asked me to confirm if they were correct - to which I responded in the negative then hung up on them and proceeded to call Standard Bank. I got no assistance whatsoever, and was being put from one department to the next then I was finally asked to call some applications department, which only operates during certain times of the day. I have been trying to call that same said department for more than a day now, to no avail - the consultants are forever busy and I am put on hold forever without ever getting to speak to anyone. Disgusted with this service - a bank should ideally take customer concerns seriously, particularly when it comes to potential ***** cases. I find it unbelievable that they can treat this so lightly.
