Salary Reversal
I would like to express my disappointment and disgust at the way Standard Bank has handled my account and complaint. I asked the bank to make a reversal for a GEP direct debit order for the amount of R124.00. Instead of reversing this amount as per my instruction, they went ahead and reversed my entire salary for the amount of R40, 247.23. After noticing this I immediately notified the bank through their Warmbaths branch. I was assured that the matter has been referred to head office who will get back to me in due course. I also notified the bank that this matter needs urgent attention as my salary is being paid into this account.

AS my salary date approached, I engaged with the bank several times to reiterate the urgency of this matter. My salary date came on the 26th July 2015, and the account was already on -R40247.23, which meant that my salary of R19000.00 would be paid into this negative amount. I was assured by the bank on the 27th July 2015 that my account will be rectified within the next 7 days. In the meantime, all my debits bounced and none was serviced. I have now been sitting without food and petrol to go to work for the past 3 weeks.
