Salary cheque taking 7 days to clear

<p>I went to standard bank Greenstone today to bank my salary cheque as my contract ends today.</p> <p> </p> <p>They informed me that the cheque will take 7 days to clear.</p> <p> </p> <p>They also informed me that any debit orderts not cleared because they do not accept a salary cheque will be refunded by me. No debit order will go through as the cheque will not clear.</p> <p> </p> <p>One of the biggest problems I have with all banks is that they use the money I deposit to invest and earn more money. Still today I was charged a lot of bank charges because I had to cash the cheque and then bank it. </p> <p> </p> <p>One should not be charged for a salary deposit especially when the bank refuses to clear it.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
