Ridiculous Bank fees for a Account I had since I was young and it’s been years since I last used the account

Good morning Peter, I have a complain about Standard Bank, in my youth my parents opened a youth account for me with this bank, I used up the money and the account remained dormant for about five years. I have another account with the same institution to my surprise when I started working and opened this account,it restricts me of doing anything. I tried close the account they said I owe them money for banking fees I asked how because I have not been using the account for years and now the amount of bank fees ridiculously around R5000 and I cannot afford to pay it. Could you please assist, Thank you.
