Revolving Credit Plan Debit Order Issue (Ref ***4 & ***7
Dear Complaints Resolution Centre,
I write further to my ongoing complaint regarding the unresolved debit order issue on my Revolving Credit Plan, now outstanding for more than five months despite numerous assurances and escalations.
📌 Background & Timeline
On 17 May 2025, I first reported that my debit order did not run. I was told this had been “reloaded,” but had to pay manually.
On 11 June 2025, I received written confirmation that the debit order would run from my ABSA account, and that my Prestige account was closed.
Since then, the debit order has consistently failed each month (June, July, August, September), despite repeated assurances that the details were corrected.
I have had to make manual payments every month to protect my credit record.
On 19 September 2025, I received acknowledgment from the Complaints Resolution Centre (***), but the case was subsequently marked as a duplicate of *** handled by Mr. Gorden Bila.
As of today, 25 September 2025, there has still been no resolution, no updated feedback, and no correction to the debit order.
📌 Current Situation
I am being asked yet again to supply documents already provided (ABSA confirmation letter), yet no action has been taken.
The complaint has been moved between departments without accountability, resulting in repeated delays.
I continue to make manual payments under duress to avoid negative credit reporting.
📌 My Expectations
Immediate correction of my debit order details to my ABSA account.
Written confirmation that my credit record has not been and will not be negatively affected by Standard Bank’s repeated failures.
Written confirmation of the correct debit order date and successful processing from October 2025 onwards.
A formal explanation and accountability for why this has been unresolved after more than 7 months.
📌 Escalation Notice If this matter is not resolved by COB Friday, 26 September 2025, I will have no choice but to escalate this case formally to the Banking Ombudsman with full supporting documentation, including copies of all complaints (Refs ***7 and ***4), correspondence, and payment proof.
I trust Standard Bank will treat this as a matter of urgency and respond with a concrete resolution, not further delays.
Yours sincerely, Riaan Venter
