Revolting service from Standard Bank
The Hospice Palliative Care Association of SA has been a client of Standard Bank since it was established over 30 years ago. The service we have been getting from the bank in the last two months is revolting beyond description. More than a 100 staff members have not been able to get their salaries in December and staff (Lucinda Brown, Nomvuyo Magam) at the bank is making no effort to assist in solving the problem. Payments from our foreign funder have been rejected twice by our bank and it is just not possible for the bank to firstly identify the problem and secondly solve the problem. We have been dealing with at least three different people at the bank and none of them seem to be interested in prioritising this issue. I have sent an email to Lucinda, she did not even have the decency to acknowledge my email. On Monday I finally got hold of her on the phone. She promised to call me back immediately after she had finished an urgent call. I am still waiting for that call. I am sorry to say this but Standard bank staff have not only been very unsupportive but just does not seem to be interested in solving the problem and HPCA is left with all the negative implications as result.
