Repossing process followed
I have been going through some very serious financial patch that I was unable to pay my vehicle instalment at times and to my surprise I will never receive any call from the bank or whatsoever. I then decided to take an initiative to find out what’s going on with my account in which I find that the matter was already with the lawyers (Stupel & Berman Inc) that I had to Google myself and find them. What I did was to negotiate the repayment with them and they referred me back to their client which is Standard Bank where I was dealing with the lady by the Name of Keitumetse Matoko. We have been talking together since February where I explained my financial crisis and showed my dedication in resolving the matter. They asked me to pay a certain amount of R12 000 something which I did, it was then discussed that I will be given an opportunity to repay the current instalment together with the arrears. When I asked Keitumetse how far they are or how far was that process she told me she will ne speaking to her boss and come back to me. I have all correspondence with me (Emails) that Keitumetse never bothered to respond back to me. To my surprise there was a guy who came to my office to repossess the Car fortunate enough I was not there. The lawyers had my contacts as well and have never seen any of their correspondence. The very same lawyers have once dealt with me before regarding this account when I owed R75 000 and I paid it in full to the bank (Whats new today regarding the handling of the same account) something it’s up here. I then sent an urgent email to Keitumetse to give me a call which she didn’t on Wednesday the 28th May 2016 however I got in tough with the guy Richard Mtshali who wants to repossess the car I explained my situation in which he then told me he is only doing his job and he needs the car bank. I then managed to send the email to Keitumetse regarding this matter today the 03 May 2016 which she then responded to say she has been trying to get hold of me with no luck and they have cancelled the contract and closed the file and I must return the asset back or else I must pay their full outstanding money (I have responded back to say is that a final say or what) she is not coming back but I have never seen any of her emails (Because I explained to well in writing to say if you cannot get hold of me on the phone send me an email and I will definitely respond) nor her responding back to my emails. So to my surprise, she is able to respond to me when I mention I will take this up with the ombudsman but not able to respond when I need assistance from the bank regarding my account. In actual fact I am only able to speak to Keitumetse Matoko from the bank and the lawyers but I have never been able to speak to her manager or anything. I feel they could have rather say they can’t help me and inform me of the stage they are going to follow. What can I do? I am leaving the country tomorrow the 4th May and only back on the 16 May 2016. What will happen if I don’t give them the car and they reposses during my upset I still have the car with me as we speak, Do I take the car back? What do I do because this is the second time Standard bank its treating me like this. I have all proves with me regarding this matter. Please advice Standard Bank is the worst nightmare that anyone would want to bank with, it looks like they like repossessing our cars so that they can sell them to their closest family members.
