recycling accounts
I am sure this comes as no surprise to you after reading some of the complaints on this site.
I had an account with STD bank which was closed in 2008. I have all the supporting documents
At the time that I had the Std bank account I instructed Computershare to pay my dividends to this account. Therefore when the account was closed Computershare informed me that they were unable to pay out my dividends.
However six months later Standard Bank recycled my account number to an employee of STD Bank. Computershare tried again to payout the dividends and due to Std Bank recycling my account number the dividends were incorrectly paid out to the employee of Std bank who had gotten my Account number. Over a period of 4 years this employee has been receiving MY dividends (over R 3000-00). This employee (Std Bank refuses to give his details) has not even questioned Std Bank about the 'Extra Money that he has received in his account'. Even now when I have brought up the matter with Standard Bank, Standard Bank will not admit their fault in recycling an account number so soon after it has been closed and they will rather protect an employee who obviously is dishonest and according enjoying
