Ready to 'switch to FNB' after bad banking @standardbank

I have recently taken out a cellphone contract with a new service provider and therefore have a new cell number. As this affects my internet and cellphone banking, I went in to Standard Bank (Cavendish branch) and updated my cell number. The man serving me at the enquiries desk was very offhand and unfriendly. Nonetheless, he assured me that my number had been changed on the system.

However, upon trying to do an eft I realized that my number had only been updated for the 'My Updates' function and not for OTP services. I called Standard Bank to try and sort out this issue. I was told that when I went to change my number I was supposed to have signed a form (which did not happen) and that I would have to go into the bank again. All that they could do over the phone was to change the OTP setting so that it gets sent to my email address rather than my cellphone (which is ok but not my preferred choice).

I returned to Standard bank Cavendish and explained my problem in detail. Again, the friendliness of the staff was poor and I was almost made to feel stupid - as if I was meant to know that I had to sign a form the first time I went?! Nevertheless, I was once agan assured that the problem was sorted - I had specifically asked the staff member to make sure that both the My Updates and OTP services were enabled for my NEW cellphone number and asked her to check that the setting was changed from email to cellphone. I signed the form and left.

I have since noticed that I have been receiving NO updates to either my cell or email address for any transactions. Moreover, when trying to log in to my internet banking this morning to do an eft, I have found that I have no access - I enter my email and password on the banking app and am told that my OTP sservice has been disabled. There is an option to enable it, yet when I enter my (new) cell number I am told that the OTP has been sent yo my OLD number, which no longer exists. I try the option to send the OTP to my email address in order to enable the function, and again am told that it has been sent to my OLD cell number.

I am so sick of trying to deal with this issue - how hard can it be to update a cell number?!! Every time I go in to bank I have to take time off work, pay for parking, etc - standard bank is therefore costing me both time and money. I am certain that I will be closing my account and switching banks, just as I switched cellphone service providers.
