Re: Canellation of Protection Plan
My husband has been a standard bank client all his life. By the time he died he had Alicia Govender as his private banker. When bringing supporting documents to the bank, Alicia said there are no funds because the revolving account had no protection plan I found this strange because my husband had a tendency to go beyond the necessary to cover with insurances. On checking the emails he sent to me while alive, I found two instructions from Alicia to my husband to cancel his insurances. I looked for instructions from my husband to Alicia to cancel the protection plan covering the revolving account, I did not find it. I therefore wrote to Rajan Govender who manages private bankers to assist on this matter. it was the 3rd of March the next follow up email was on the 6th of March, today is the 10th of March none of the two employees have ever come back to me. The saddest thing about the Standard bank's insensitivity is that they are aware that once the client dies, the dependents of the client loose an income, and yet, none of its responsible employees is prepared to bring forward proof that the initiative to leave the revolving account without protection came from my husband.
