R113,000 ****** from My Standard Bank Notice Deposit – No Device, No Facial Recognition, No Warning
R113,000 ****** from my Standard Bank Notice Deposit – My Wedding Savings Gone I am getting married in less than three weeks, and a *****ster has ****** R113,000 from my Notice Deposit. The money was transferred to my current account and spent via my credit card — all without my authorisation. My device was not used Facial recognition was not required No branch visit, no call to the bank Yet Standard Bank allowed a new device to withdraw a massive sum immediately When I reported this, the bank said: “The attempted inter-account transfer was concluded, and no loss occurred.” This is false — the money was spent, and my wedding savings are gone. Other banks like Capitec and African Bank require a call or facial recognition for large withdrawals. This is a critical security flaw in Standard Bank’s DigiMe / mobile banking system, and I will be posting this on LinkedIn, HelloPeter, and everywhere publicly so other customers are aware.
