Quick to take legal action.

I'm disappointed that Standard bank rushed to take legal action against me before contacting me first to resolve issues with the account. It is common decency to contact your client FIRST about the account instead of sending lawyers without notifying them directly. When I stated that my account was not functional as my cheque card constantly stated "DO NOT HONOUR" to retail point of purchase (as if the card was ********** or ******, thus causing me a lot of embarrassment), Southgate branch said the account & card were fine. Instead they said I should pay for another card even though there was nothing wrong with the initial debit card. You are just interested in making money out of people unnecessarily instead of resolving issues amicably and assisting clients efficiently. Southgate branch said that the IT department would contact me to see how they could help and that did not happen to date. Instead I have been handed over for R1034 for an overdrawn account??? When money from our society account "disappeared" from the Randburg branch we did not rush off to lawyers but instead contacted the branch to find out how funds could be embezzled under their watch from an account that had been in existence for years. So is it fine if your bank rips clients off and then you institute legal action at the slightest default? That level of customer service is distasteful. You can't even manage queues at Southgate branch as teller number 5 allows people to cut the queue, your card collections call centre agents interrogate clients and when found guilty do not apologise (Thulani Moyo), the call centre at card divison phone rings for the longest time without being answered even when I call from the branch (Woodmead). The account is settled and I will be closing it as you have failed me on numerous occasions over the years and your lack of accountability and respect for clients is shocking. It gets worse by the day and I have endured enough abuse from Standard Bank to last me a life time.
