Questioning Standard Bank's settlement process
I recently settled a revolving credit account. Very excited that it was finally done with it and could now move on to saving more. During the period that I had this account, I changed my debit order amounts through the call center, increased the limit at one stage by phoning the call center etc. All transactions happening over the phone.
I do not understand why I am now required to go in to a branch to stop the debit orders and close the revolving credit account. If the process was the same visa versa, maybe I would have accepted and just hoped that it get's more with the century in time, but this is not the case.. I really do not understand this. Like most of us, time is the most valuable commodity we have, and we all strive to spend it wisely. Take of work? No I don't want to waste my precious and well deserved leave to go cancel something at the bank which I activated via the phone. Spend my Saturday morning at the bank - really with cell phone banking, online banking, telephonic banking etc. Why?
