Pure incompetance

I've been banking with Standard bank for over 30 years, financed vehicles, houses, got short term loans etc. I am currently a private banking client of theirs. Last year I experienced some serious cashflow issues due to a business deal not materialising and I fell behind on my car repayments. After being contacted by Standard Bank about this I asked if it was possible for a payment holiday, or even reducing my monthly repayments for a short while, since my problem was a tempory one. IT WAS REFUSED. Instead, I was handed over to their attorney's - tried negotiating even offering to catch-up with the arrears within 3 months - NO DEAL. They wouldn't budge, and were prepared to go the legal route. I managed to repay the FULL ARREARS as shown on my statement in December 2015, and since then I've paid my monthly installment as shown on my statement on a regular basis. On my March statement I was advised that I had an arrears amount of R3 800, that has been outstanding for 60 days - but nothing was shown as outstanding on my February / January statements. I tried calling Standard bank vehicle and asset finance, and was referred to the same legal firm that I dealt with in 2015. Same old story - aggressive emails stating that I should pay the arrears otherwise they would take legal action against me - but NO-ONE could explain what the amount of R3 800 was for, or why it appeared on my March statement but no any other.

I advised Standard bank that I would pay the so-called outstanding amount if I could get a full explanation, but instead I still get demands for payment - whilst interest is being added on a monthly basis to the so-called outstanding amount.

I advised the legal firm (Strauss - Daly) and Standardbank that I would take this matter further if no answer is received - I also requested that some-one phones me and explain why there is an arrears amount showing - but my requests were ignored. I logging this issue at the Standardbank Facebook page - TWO WEEKS AGO - no resolve although I get a message that they are "looking into it"

Now Standard Bank - from a client of yours of more than 30 years - can I ask why you ADD UNKNOWN AMOUNTS TO STATEMENTS AND EXPECT YOUR CLIENTS TO PAY IT EVEN WITHOUT GIVING AN EXPLANATION!!! ARE YOUR STATEMENTS INCORRECT!?? WHAT IS GOING ON!
