prescribed debt

I went to my bank being standard bank to apply for a loan. firstly I was declined by the system saying my credit record is bad. I complained and it was printed and there was nothing negative on the record.

the staff then motivated and send the application to head office. the following day I received a call being informed that my loan has been declined and the being that I had a credit card with the bank in 1998. I feel that the bank is using a prescribed debt to decline my loan. this is not right and I want it to be reviewed and that debt removed from my profile.
