Poor Service Received

To whom it may concern:

I visited a Hardware store at Esikhawini, on the 1st of March 2017, I purchase material to the amount of R3860.00 , I was not happy about the other Goods so I returned those goods to the value of R1500.00 on the same day, The merchant did a refund using my card and was promised that the money will reflect in my account within 5 working days. When he initially swiped my card it showed the card number ending with 3575 but when he was doing the refund using exactly the same card on the refund it then showed last digits of the card number: 6624.

On the 9th of March 2017 after I have noticed that the money is not yet back in my account I went back to the merchant and he called Nedbank as he used a Nedbank Machine when he swiped my card for the first purchase and was the same Nedbank machine for the refund he spoke to Ashad from Nedbank who confirmed that the refund was successful on their side and he gave me REF NO: ********** , he confirmed that it appeared stuck with standard bank and Standard bank are aware of the problem when doing the refund some card numbers are showing 6624 on the refund slip, I called my bank, Standard bank on the 7th of March I had already spoken to Mpho from standard bank who said that the money was stuck in a suspense account and mailed me a form to fill in.

I waited however there was no response from Standard bank. On the 17 I called Nedbank again and spoke to Kubashnee who also confirmed that the money is stuck with STANDARD BANK and gave REF NO: ********** , again on the 19th of March I called STANDARD BANK was given REF NO: ********** 290 I was promised that someone will call me back , which never happened to DATE.

24th of March 2017 I called quoting the REF number: ********** 290 I was told that the Service is still pending and will be escalated to the back Office and someone will call me, I waited and waited yet no one can tell me where the money is.

On the 24th of May 2017 I called again and spoke to Aarifah from Standard bank at 12h02 he called Nedbank quoting the Ref number: ********** and she promised me again that the query was escalated to the bank office and someone was going to call me within 24hours which never happened. At this stage i think the waiting period is already unacceptable as these sort of things never take more than a few days, so i am actually beginning to get suspicious as to what activities are going on with regards to this swipe and supposed "refund".

Today is the 19th of May 2017 time is 13:19 I called and spoke to Matsidiso from Standard bank who just said its not their problem it is Nedbanks problem. Guys, i do not care whose problem it is, it certainly is not mine, is it impossible for these two banks to call each other and sort this issue out? do i need to report this as *****?

Im banking with Standbank but they cannot locate the money that was refunded using a Nedbank machine on their card till today. I am very dissapointed with standard bank I have been banking with them since 1999, i have an elite account and this is the treatment i am receiving?

The service I am getting from Standard bank with regards to this refund it completely pathetic, the bank has been promising that the query will be resolved and yet nothing has been done, each time I call I get told a different story by different people. For almost two months i have been sent from pillar to post for such a simple enquiry, out of all of those calls and reference numbers you are telling me that not one of your staff has tried to resolve my query?

Your service is disgusting, i am so incredibly dissapointed, if this is not resolved i will have to strongly consider moving all of my business to another, more professional bank!
