poor service by a bank

i called in thrice today and kept being transferred from pillar to post,my query was that i paid off a vehicle in 2008 and got my log book after making the settlement however recently i was checking for a credit card with Standard bank and a consultant told me i had an outstanding account with standard vehicle finance,each person i spoke to said they will transfer me to the correct department which was legal as they cant see the reason why its not updated,i waited on the line on one call for over 25 mins only for the call to be transferred again and the call dropped
