Poor service

I've been a Standard Bank client for 19 years but ever since Co-vid, they have dropped the ball tremendously. I used to have a banker whom I could contact any time or make an appointment to see. He knew me as a person and was able to advise me accordingly with regards to my finances.

I've been requesting for my money in my fixed account to be moved into my cheque account. I've called 3 times already and this still hasn't been done. I called again today and they told me the system is down so they can't action anything and I must call back. I asked to be called back since this is my 3rd time calling but this was not done and I still can't access my funds.

I want to close an account and they are telling me to go to the branch. I go to the branch and they are telling me I need to wait 45 minutes! That is wild! The account remains open.

I called to enquire about a second home loan and I was told that Standard bank will not give me one. I went through a bond originator and only then did they give me a loan. This goes to show how unhelpful the call centre is. Needless to say I did not take it. I went with Investec.

The ATMs are few and far between making withdrawing money an absolute nightmare.

The service here has not been the deteriorating and they can no longer meet my banking needs.
