Poor poor service

Good evening everyone, I am not writing this review to spite standard bank, but this review is to warn people about standard bank before you join them. I wish I had someone to warn me about this company before I started banking with them. My name is Moses Idebi, and what I am about to tell you guys just happened right now and it is the 2nd time this incident is taking place. I went to visit a friend at Craighall, I left he's place and was driving home, while driving home I saw I needed petrol so I stoped at the garage to buy petrol knowing I have money in my account, the petrol attendant poured the petrol and proceeded to get the speed point after pouring the petrol, I gave him my card to swipe, to my surprise it declined with an error message saying Insufficient fund, I got scared thinking I was hacked and my money was ****** so I checked my standard bank celphone app, I was happy to see all my money is still in my account but still surprised to why my card declined so I told the petrol attendant to swipe again, the same result was what I got, so I tried go into the. ATM to withdraw but it declined all this took about 20min of me figuring out what was the issue so I decided to use my airtime to call the bank, wasted about 50rand to call them I spoke to the first consultant he explained the problem was from their side I should wait 15 to 20 min and try again, while this was happening the petrol attendant was raising an alarm thinking I am a *****star trying to ***** them, this was really embarrassing, but I listened to the consultant and waited 25 min but I decided to call the call center again to ensure that the issue as been resolved before swiping but to my surprise the consultant that picked up informed me that the issue will only be resolved by tomorrow and I should leave my phone as collateral and come back to pay tomorrow, I declined because the only thing I had was my phone and bank card so I dropped the phone mean while the attendant were complaining asking for their money keep in my I have been waiting for about 50min. I called the call center for the 3rd time she repeated that I can only swipe my card tomorrow meaning the first consultant **** to me and gave me faulted hope, the 3rd consultant explained to me that on their side 200 rand as left my account, and I am expected to cum back and swipe another 100 meaning I paid 300 rand for 100 rand petrol, she explained that the issue is being resolved and tomorrow all should be fine spoke and fought with her for about 15 min keep in my the time was already 8:30 got to the petrol station at 7pm. I cut the phone and decided to leave my I'd and a friends watch as collateral I don't stay in that area, I stay 38min away meaning I have to use that 100 rand I bought to drive back and head back home that's petrol done wasted 400rand cause I bank with Standard bank plus I am still goining to get charges for my card declining I know this because this is the second time this incident is happening I lost money the last time too, so I done see the need of saving my money in a bank when I will actually be loosing it without even using it, it sad because I worked hard for my money regardless of if it's 1 rand or a million. I will be closing my account with them next week I am literally taking leave just to ensure I move my debit orders and stuff and salary into my new account which will be with Fnb I have heard good things about them you guys can try them too, I have been with Standard bank for 9 years they can check my record I guess this is a sign for me to move, I will be going to the media about this story too luckily my uncle is working for 1 of the media company as a journalist I am sure he will love this story I do have proof of all this I just mentioned I recorded all the convo I had with all 3 consultant thank God for technology my calls record automatically when I make a call so guys that's my warning to you guys it's up to you to risk your money with standard bank.

Thank you
