Paying for free account

I have a student achiever account at standard bank. This is a bank account that is free. I've been paying R59 for it for at least the last 3 months. My account is now overdrawn as I'm currently abroad and not using the account. I've made contact with standard bank to try and resolve this. I recieved a reply on each of the individual emails, from 3 different people. Each reply suggested a different reason and solution to the problem. On the last email I was told to contact standard bank via a secure message. I've done this twice now and they have yet to reply. I don't understand how they charge for banking fees on a free account. Neither why they don't let you know what is going on, or that they them selves don't seem to know what is going on. I've asked for the money to be paid back, as well as for the account to be closed. All in vain.
