Overpaid Standard-bank cannot account on my credit account!!!

I had my Standardbank credit card account handed over to Norton-Lambrianos attorneys in September 2014 for a Debt of R17 028.44, I stopped paying my last R1 000.00 installment in September 2016 which is 24 months down the line.

I then called the attorneys trying to find out how much I owed still, at first they gave me a figure but upon insisting that it cannot be that i still owed, then I received a call sayig that my account was settled.

I immediately became suspicious as there was a very slim chance that my last installemnt would happen to be axact amount I owed to Standardbank, I then requested that I be sent a statement of the account showing how much I owed when the account was handed over and the the total amount I paid into the account since the hand over.

Attempsts to get the statement have proved to be futile as Standardbank refers me to the Attorneys and vice versa.

I recently emailed the attorneys myself and not through Standardbank and got a reply that the account was closed at Standardbank's request and that I should contact the bank directly.

I believe that I have overpaid the account and that I am entitled to a refund, but seems as though there is a coverup by being refused to be given a statement of the account.

I find it hard to believe that Standardbank has no proof of how many intallments and to what value do they amount given that the payments were made directly into the bank using the same reference details.

I need help following this issue up!!!

Yours faithfully

Rakholile Tseko
