Over charged

We had a bond with standard bank which was for R315K. In 2008 my husband lost his job and we were forced to go under debt review. The bond balance increased up to R400K. Early this year we decided to sell the house because nobody was willing to assist us and the arrear balance was too high. When the attorneys requested for the cancellation figure from the bank they were advised its R421, 678.32 which was higher than the balance we owed them. We were then advised that the AOD is R192,947.24. We tried asking for explanation as to why the AOD is double the amount and nobody could assist us and we were forced to sign as we wanted to get rid of the house. We requested for the breakdown of the AOD and nobody could give it to us and we were advised by the attorneys its accrued interest. We need to know why the AOD is double the amount because the house was sold for R380K and the amount of R325K was paid to the bank, the balance should be +/- R96K. Thanks
