On hold for more than 30 minutes while branch cannot confirm where my card is located.

I went to the K90 branch on Saturday, 4 March 2017 to pick up my ATM card. While standing in the queue, one of the staff told me that they were offline and will not be able to confirm if my card is at the branch. I explained to her that I already have a text message confirming that it's at the branch. She then explained that at times there are mistakes made between the branches. I then asked her how can I get it reconfirmed, she pointed to a number that I could call ********** 600, which I then proceded to make while being at the branch. I waited more than 15 minutes on this number before I dropped the call and then attempted to call the Prestige Banking number (086) ********** , low and behold I was welcomed with the same on hold music as the first number, same message that there are large call volumes. After 10 minutes I eventually dropped this call as well and by this time, the branch was closed. An hour later I called the Prestige number again, waited more than 10 minutes again, with no luck of speaking to anyone. 2 hours later, after the fourth time trying my call was eventually answered just to confirm what I already knew, my card was at the branch that I was at!!

My questions are then: Standard Bank, is it your clients' problem when your systems are down especially when your client can confirm that the card is at the correct branch? How can you allow your staff to not provide adequate assistance? If she at least went through the trouble of taking my word and attempted to find my card then I wouldn't be writing this review. Lastly, are the Prestige Banking number and the lost cards number being transfered to the same call centre on Saturdays? I find it very difficult to believe that it's not because I got the same 'no service' on both numbers.
