Not moving anywhere

Which bank cant you rely on when you are traveling overseas and suddenly find that your credit card stops working? Standard Bank.

Absolutely appalled by the response from Standard Bank when I reported the failure of my credit card and the fact that it was my only source of funds while abroad.

1. Having immediately alerted the bank, I was told that it was the result of a communication failure between systems.

2. That I would need a replacement card in order to continue transacting on my account.

3. That this was come at a cost of 40$, or approx. R400 to me.

4. And that I would receive the new card within 48 hours.

48 hours later and still no card, I contact the bank, at international rates might I add, only to be told:

1. The card would only be issued withim 4 working days.

2. The earlier duration given was incorrect.

3. There was no way to have the card delivered any sooner.

This is the worst service ever, especially comimg from a bank claiming to be 'moving forward'.

No concern for the financial implications and difficulty caused to its customers through the failure of its own systems.

Unacceptable.
