This is with regards to the complaint you logged on HelloPeter.

I apologise for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

We have liaised with the consultant who assisted you with the fixed rate and she advised that the terms and conditions were read to you and the, offer was accepted at the rate of 12.00% for 36 months.

The fixed rate quoted on the 29th of November and instalment amount quoted as per the credit system was R 5755.81, at the time the Assurance premium was R99.43.

Therefore the sms that was sent to you. The above figure including the assurance, insurance and the service charge.

A pro-rata premium was charged on the 5th of December for an amount of R488.15 and therefore instalment amount increased to R6 144.53. The Assurance premium increased based on the balance.

This was is the calculation used:

R494 895.17 (balance as on 28/12/2018) x 11.06 (factor)

1000

= R5 473.54 + R107.26 (insurance) + R488.15 (assurance) + R69.00 (service charge)

= R6 137.95 - small difference is due to the decimal point calculations

THIS BANK IS CONTRADICTING ITSELF IT SAID IT'S MY INSTALLMENT AFTER REPO RATE IS R5371,72 this lady calculation I don't know where she takes the amounts from,they don't balance .maybe the Ombudman will be able to explain them.

Standard Bank: Due to December early salaries, we will adjust your home loan repayment date for December 2018 to 14/12/2018 for your convenience.

Please note your new instalment amount is: R5,371.72 following the Repo Rate change on 23 Nov 2018.
