No response to problem - reference ***0
After rumours started about the fall of African Bank I went to Standard Bank, asking the lady at the font desk to check on my Stanlib Investment if any money was taken out of the account or channelled into another fund. She informed me that only interest was reinvested, no other movement took place. But to make sure, she sent me to an office, telling me to wait for someone to put me through to the Consumer Services. I then spoke to a guy, confirming the information and said only money from Money Markets was taken and since I have a Stanlib Income Fund, nothing was taken and will be taken from my account. I again asked him if he was sure, because if money was going to be taken from my investment, I will close the account immediately. He assured me that my money was safe. When I received the next statement, the investment amount was R1109,73 less and an amount of R12 855,95 was in the ABIL Retention Fund. This wouldn't be the case if I received the correct information from your employees. I now claim the retention money to be paid out to me. Nobody has addressed my problem yet, only advised me to manage my portfolio electronically and why the Retention Fund was established.
