No feedback on credit card application

I did a credit card application a month ago and Standard bank said it takes 7 - 10 working days but still up to now, they haven't provided feedback, I have been to the branch more than three times and the consultant who is assisting me tried to call a department that is responsible for approving and they keep gave him email addresses that he is supposed to follow up but still the poor guy is also not getting feedback. I have been with this bank for 5 years now, I have a clean credit record, never had a debit order which declined. If I'm struggling like this to have a R10k credit card approved or at least receive feedback, I wonder how it is going to be when buying a house or car? I guess I might have to move my account to another bank which can offer me better services...feedback is very important!
