No Control over your own money

My husband has banked with Standard Bank Northgate for many years now. FNB are trying to be clever and are putting through a debit order on his account even though the matter is going to Concourt and the fact that we had a joint bond so are jointly responsible. Last month Tim was able to go into the app and reverse it. This month he can't. He has to go into the branch and there are a whole lot of clauses about how if they fail to do as requested we are still responsible and that it will take 3 working days. We are living in the 21st century and there is really no need to chisel the request out in stone. He got the app so that he could do what he needs to wherever he is. Standard bank did not bother to notify their clients that the app was changing. Yesterday when i checked I could see that some money had been put through but it is untouchable. Before you know it we are going to have to wait three working days to deposit our salaries. we need to come up with a better way to control our bank accounts. What we choose to do within that account has nothing to do with Standard Bank. They obviously realised that they were losing out on bank charges and changed the app accordingly. I want this fixed - TODAY

You have to be kidding me. Your resolution consultant called me a **** when I said we had done it on the app before. He also wanted to know why Standard Bank are not aware of this - I didn't realise that you had to keep them up to date with stuff that has nothing to do with them. He kept on getting confused about which bank we were talking about and claim that previous reversals were done by FNB because Standard Bank does not allow reversals to be done. He phoned my husband and bul**** him into having to go into the branch. We have every right to reverse the amount. The bond was a joint account, my husband is not the only one who signed the bond. I do not want a lecture, I want a little assistance. Since when have Standard Bank fought on behalf of FNB? I want this matter dealt with TODAY. Don't create false impressions by professing to help me. I didn't catch his name - if this is resolution of a problem then God help us. Standard Bank should remember whose money it is, that they are not reversing it for free and that they are not the people who have the final say

Official private business reply Hi Sandy Thank you for your comment. We have provided the bank's final response and the matter is closed on our part. always nice when they decide a matter is closed - i don't know where they provided the "official" response because I don't have it. Interesting to see they sent the comment as private and not public
