No Communication

Good Day , I have been paying my account which is in arrears with NDS Credit management. I than phoned them today and they told me the account is no longer with them and that is I should contact Std Bank. After calling numerous departments I eventually got through to the correct department. The consultant advised that they cannot inform me where this account is and that I should contact them back after a week or two. Why was there no communication ? Does Std Bank not want there money ? Please advise...
