No assistance

Yesterday morning, the 19th of August 2015 between 11:30 and 12:00, I went to the Standard Bank in Parow Centre Cape Town to do a transfer of R15 000 from my account (***) to Mango Airlines to book a travel package. I was assisted by a short, light skinned coloured gentleman at the enquiries desk (I unfortunately did not get his name hence my description but hoping you can find out who was on duty at this date and time).

I told him my intentions with the transfer and told him that I need to do the express option as I need the payment to reflect immediately. He told me that he could see on their system that I still have the Bloemfontein address (have since moved to Cape Town) and that for this reason, he could not do the express option. I understood this part, but then things went south from there. He gave me no other alternatives and said that I need to bring a proof of address before he could assist me. He even went as far as threatening to freeze my account within the next 7 days should I not update my details. I then went to Canal Walk and was assisted via the ATM. The drive was inconvenient!!

I have been a loyal customer for close to 10 years. Switching to FNB
