Hi Hello Peter

I took out an Access Loan with Standard bank of R15000 two Months back and the agreement was that they will debit my Current Cheque account on the 25 th of each Month.

1st thing that went wrong, the loan was paid in the Access Account which I don't have with the bank, I went to the bank and asked them to transfer the loan to the right Account and it was done, I asked the consultant to please close of the Access account as I don't even have a card to do any withdrawals etc..and she agreed.

Last Month on the 25th my Current cheque account was not debited but instead they went on to Debit the wrong account where the loan was paid, the next day i phone standard bank customer service and they told me that my account was going to be debited on the 29th of the same month, 29th came no debit went through.

To my surprise I got an sms from the bank saying that my loan is in arrears, I called the bank and I told them that the agreement of the debit was 25th and nothing happened, 29th again still nothing and this is not my problem anyway,

I made an arrangement with the bank and I asked them nicely to please debit my current cheque account and not the wrong account. I asked them to Double debit my account on the 25th of next Month.

I went to the branch this Wednesday the 23rd of May just to make sure that the double debit will go through, the bank consultant told me to use one of their recorded line to call the Access Loan customer service I spoke to them and they said all is well, they will debit on the 25th my cheque account.

I received a call yesterday from Standard bank the Credit Rehabilitation centre, the lady asked me if my Current Cheque Account was already debited as I sad no, she told me she will escalate the case to their Administration Department and I was happy.

This Morning I checked my balance status ad still no debit went through, they haven't debited my Account again and now is for the 2nd time. It is the 26th.

THIS WILL AFFECT MY CREDIT SCORE and I will be labeled as a bad payer while is not even my problem. I always make sure that money is available for any debits.

Please hello Peter assist regarding the above matter because I won't do any follow ups again with the bank, i'm really tired, wasting my time, money and energy calling and going to the branch. I'm really exhausted!

Thanks

Anonymous
