Never give your PIN to anyone, except us for help

I have a couple of unknown transactions on my Mastercard account holder and as I could not visit a Standard Bank branch, I decided to call them, on their MaxiCall line, so I can pay a little more to Telkom and the bank pays nothing.

After wading through the options I select that I want to speak to an operator. Then I get asked to enter my card number and PIN number before I am put through. Given the bank has always said that I must not disclose my PIN to anyone I find this VERY disturbing.
This is asides from one one of the voice options being that they could read my PIN to me?? So if someone *****s my card and ID book, all they have to do is phone the bank who will give them my PIN number!!

Brilliant, and here I thought the bank was Moving Forward.

VERY disconcerting
