MyMo account

Add on Facebook: "The last thing you want after a long day is to spend FOREVA at the bank submitting documents. Get a MyMo account and start banking like NEVA before: http://bit.ly/2V96pcG You’re #GoodToGo - It sure as hell has been like NEVA before..."

I have seen the add and have been trying to open a MyMo account online and with the app. Only getting a “Thank you for submitting your application. We require you to visit your nearest branch for further verification or alternative banking solutions. Please bring your ID and proof of residence with you.”

Thinking that my phone is giving problems, I even tried this even with multiple email address and different smart phones.

I phoned the help centre number and was eventually told they can't help and that I have to go into the branch.

After a fairly decent waiting time (not too long) at the Claremont (Cavendish square) branch, a consultant helped me. I noticed that she wasn't too sure how to fix it and said she will just load the FICA documents and then we can try again to see if it works. My fingerprints were taken and the documents checked. After disapearing for around 10 minutes (that felt more like hours) she came back and said she can't help me further as my ID does not meet the national home affairs parameters - and she can't verify it. I asked to see the document how this process worked and it couldn't be produced. She said "we looked at it and decided it doesn't match up". And that I have to wait for 3-5 days for home affairs to clear my ID first.

I'm not allowed to use any other identification method? Yes maybe my green ID is 20years old, but what about my passport? Surely people older than me have opened accounts before. I feel this is false advertising.

And to who do I speak to fix this. A call centre maybe? Did I block the system by trying multiple times to open it maybe? I'm still waiting for my email to confirm everything.

Please help. In essence I think this is a great concept, but it's just not working.
