Mutilate notes in am

Atm withdrawal at a standard bank atm in muizenberg petrol station . One the r100 notes that was included in the amount withdrawn is part of the note. Note is basically in half. Other half not included. This was done on a Sunday so first thing Monday morning I'm off to my bankabsa, (I. Go to the landsdowne branch) to advise of this, they tell me they can't do anything and I must go to standard bank branch. I heard off to the grassy park branch. They advise me that the atm is inside the store and that the store is using their branding only. They are not responsible for the atm and I have to go to the petrol station where the atm is located and tell them to sort me out with a new note. Supprise suprise they tell me they not responsible for it as it only on their site but not their responsibility, nor do they maintain the machine or refill it with money. They advise I must go to the reserve bank. I get there and the reserve bank tells me they Don't do mutilate notes anymore and that I must go the head branch of my bank. Now in town and absa head office and they advise that the note is torn just before the half way mark therefore they can't do anything. How is it that one can not be help when you can't get your hard earn money from an atm and service if the notes are mutilate. Why are these even in an atm
